1993-94 RONALDO NAZARIO (R9) MATCH WORN CRUZEIRO SHIRT FROM HIS ROOKIE SEASON (LOA's)
A historic Ronaldo match worn shirt from his professional debut season with Cruzeiro Esporte Clube. The storied Brazilian club signed Ronaldo when he was just 16 years old, and he made an immediate impact in the first team, scoring an incredible 44 goals in 47 matches and leading his team to its first Copa do Brasil in 1993, and the Minas Gerais State Championship in 1994. The next season he left South America for Dutch club PSV and began a dominant professional run in Europe. Today, Ronaldo owns Cruzeiro (now in Brazil’s second division) and serves as president of La Liga club Valladolid.
The blue short sleeved Cruzeiro shirt has the logos of sponsors Coca-Cola and Finta (Brazil-based sporting equipment co.) alongside the five star club emblem. His player number "9” is pressed onto the back in applique with another Coca-Cola logo above. Inside the collar is a size large (“G”) tag. Wear is described as heavy by authenticator MEARS, most noticeable on the back number. An important rookie season shirt from the budding teenaged superstar. Included is a LOA from Marcos Teixeira, who was the Brazil National Team’s Technical Coordinator, and nephew of former CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) President, Ricardo Teixeira. The shirt has been assessed as authentic by top game worn authenticator, MEARS (Memorabilia Evaluation And Research Services). The shirt has been tagged by MEARS and comes with their LOA.
